HMRC announce a staged "Go Live" in April

HMRC have recently announced that there will be a staged introduction of the service for the verification of subcontractors and the acceptance of monthly returns. Contractors will not become liable to fines under new CIS until October 2007, if they can demonstrate that they have not ignored new CIS, so they must purchase new CIS software and to prove compliance with the legislation.

Software is bought on a licence, usually of 12 months duration, this means that many contractors will find that they have to purchase another license before they have had 12 months real use from the software.

ONLY insite123 licenses will commence from the date that the industry is given the go ahead by HMRC that they can accept all verifications of subcontractors and submissions of the monthly return
